How it started.

The five-storey low-rise building was originally constructed in 1972 and acquired by McMaster in 2014. With the goal to be a leader in professional, continuing education, and lifelong learning, the University’s acquisition of the building, meant the space required upgraded systems.

Ergonomic excellence.

Our AV specialists worked closely with the architectural and space planning team to upgrade teaching classrooms that effectively prioritized ergonomics for instructors and students. The audio-visual design incorporates technology that is both functional and easy-to-use. We included visual presentation stations with sound reinforcement systems that feature microphones, signal processors, and speakers. Our designers paid close attention to sound distribution, upgrading systems to be clear yet accommodating of next-door classrooms.

Completed in 2015, the AV system design contributes to the CCE’s goal of facilitating effective teaching, communication, and collaboration.
