Local talent backed by national strength.

With highly-skilled mechanical and electrical engineers, our Edmonton team has dedicated resources with proven project experience. Building evaluations, power systems and arc flash studies, sustainable building consultation – these are just a few of the many reasons that local and national clients turn to S+A in Edmonton. True team players, our excellence in base building work often leads to tenant improvement projects (and vice versa).

After more than a decade of local operations, we know that in Edmonton versatility is key. We often contribute to projects across the country, taking lessons learned and applying them to local work. As a result, our local portfolio includes true landmarks, such as the intelligent integrated systems design for Edmonton's first Wired Certified office building and contributions to Canada's largest mixed-use and entertainment district. From hi-rise residential towers, to quick tenant work, our local team of twenty takes it all on.

“High-rise towers, boiler replacements, new schools, an iconic cultural hub…we really do see a bit of everything.”

THE COLD NEVER BOTHERED US ANYWAY

The team regularly enjoys some standard indoor social events, typically involving food, bowling, more food. But, in true Edmonton style, every once in a while we also partake in a good ol' World Cup qualifier (even in -14oC weather)!

HEAVY (TIMBER) LIFTING

We design to complement the building method and materials, like the exposed heavy timber structure of the Red Deer College Student Residence. Our mechanical design team used a vertical systems approach, with piping and servicing coordinated via shafts or pipe chases to avoid obstructing the wood with horizontal systems.
