Smith + Andersen received a 2016 IES International lighting design Award of Merit for Apartment of Perfect Brightness in Beijing.
An LED intelligent white system is hidden inside the perimeter cove to change lighting from warm (2700K) to cool white (6500K), depending on the season, time of day, and outdoor lighting conditions.
