The Halifax Ferry Terminal Project has seen full-scale upgrades for each of the city’s three ferry terminals: Alderney, Woodside, and the Halifax Ferry Terminal. The renovation included a planned roll-out of a modernized transit fare system.

Smith + Andersen provided mechanical and electrical services for the ferry terminal retrofit, which included new tourism kiosks, new tenant spaces, service room improvements, and the renovation of washroom facilities.

Our mechanical team designed the sanitary component of the washroom renovations. This presented a challenge for the team, as the sanitary system would reside below sea water level. 

Additional upgrades were made to the security desk kiosk, and a new ceiling acoustic panel system (designed to dampen unwanted noise) was installed in passenger waiting areas.
