A peaceful performance space.
Part of the Pacific Academy in Vancouver, BC, the Mary Pattison Chapel was constructed as an extension of the school. A library was also built with the intent to link both the primary and middle school buildings on the campus.
The chapel space seats 500 people, and first opened its doors in September 2015. Students at Pacific Academy make use of the chapel on a daily basis, while members of the Pentecostal Tabernacle of British Columbia hold services in the space on weekends.
Smith + Andersen was engaged as both the mechanical and electrical engineers on the project, focusing on providing a comfortable and safe space for students and the community to gather. Specialty lighting was also included on the interior and exterior of the project. Footprint provided energy modelling services for the project.
