Phase I was completed in 2014. Phase II of the Lakeshore Multi-use Recreation Facility includes a 25-metre lap pool, leisure pool with lay river, splash pad, therapeutic pool, change rooms, variable refrigerant flow system, and pool dehumidifier with heat reclaim. Phase II completed in 2016.
The project is targeting LEED Silver standards with high performance active systems, a carefully designed building envelope and glazing systems to minimize the use of energy for heating, cooling, and lighting. Efficient water fixtures are specified to reduce potable water use and materials containing recycled content (and manufactured regionally) are given preferences when products are selected.
Smith + Andersen provided sound system design(including computer-generated sound system modeling), audiovisual design and project management services for the spectator rink, practice rinks, gymnasium and multi-purpose spaces.
