A busy building.

The scope of the design-bid-build required an architectural retention of the stone heritage façade, as well as new entrances to the heritage lobby, and security system upgrades throughout.

Our security specialists designed a complete replacement of the screening equipment, access controls, video surveillance, detention door control touchscreens, and intercom systems. We also incorporated duress alarms throughout the building and in the parking area.

Foot traffic was a central discussion throughout this project. We worked with the architect and took the security personnel’s requirements into considering to develop three new security screening entrances for the building. The goal was to maximize visitor flow while allowing the security personnel to bypass heavy traffic areas. In additional, separate staff entrance was also created within the site lines of the main security screening entrance.

A team effort.

Our mechanical, electrical, and intelligent integrated systems team also worked with the architects to consult on other features, such as the prisoner ramp lift gate. Each of these upgrades and additions took place while the facility remained fully operational.
