Designed to inspire.

Science World is a charitable non-profit and science centre based in Vancouver. It engages British Columbians in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art & design and math) to inspire future leadership throughout the province. This renovation project included an 11,000 square-foot interactive exhibit gallery, a family centre stage, and an outdoor science park.

Smith + Andersen provided electrical engineering and lighting design services for the project, which was delivered under a fast-track, design-build approach, and completed using Autodesk Revit MEP.

Extensive use of LED technology was used for lighting, for building flood lights, the solar-powered path lighting, and photovoltaic blinds. As part of the upgrades, the fire alarm panel and the emergency generator were replaced.
