Location
Toronto, ON
Project Size
236,000 sq. ft.
Year Completed
2015

A Tier 3 data centre.

Located in downtown Toronto, this data centre is five-storeys and covers 236,000 square feet, while housing approximately 140,000 square feet of “white space” for servers. The 35,700 square foot fifth floor is dedicated to the building systems and generator space. The screen-enclosed rooftop penthouse provides an additional space for mechanical units.

Keeping it cool.

This co-location data centre facility is designed to provide more than 3000 tons of mechanical cooling from magnetic bearing oil-free chillers, along with programmable logic controllers and a maximized free cooling cycle. All equipment is provided with an N+1 redundancy, and the main systems are looped, which provides two paths for all critical services.

Within the grid.

The building is designed to a maximum capacity of 16MW, which is connected to the Toronto Hydro grid. The building has an emergency power generator system (EPGS), which supports all critical loads within the building. The EPGS systems is made up of seven 2.5 MW diesel generators. The electrical distribution to the critical loads is a 2N configuration.
