The Whitchurch Stouffville Fire Station and Arena project includes the construction of two separate buildings on the same site. The Fire Station and EMS facility features separate fire truck and ambulance apparatus bays, kitchen, office, training, exercise, dormitory and locker room program areas. The twin-pad arena includes two NHL-sized ice rinks with spectator seating areas and program and meeting rooms.
The twin-pad arena is conditioned with rooftop air handling equipment and condensing boilers serving low level radiation. Arena seating area, domestic hot water preheat and rink air handling units are heated with rejected heat from the refrigeration plant. The Fire Station is conditioned with rooftop air conditioning units and electric heating. Fire truck bays are heated with overhead gas-fired heaters.
