The Oak Ridges Community Centre offers various leisure and recreational activities to residents. The particular location allows visitors to enjoy sweeping views of Lake Wilcox. The centre includes a state-of-the-art fitness studio and aerobics centre, a college-sized gymnasium, an ecological centre, classroom-sized meeting rooms, and a six-lane, 25 meter swimming pool with a water slide, senior and youth program room, and an administration area.

The Oak Ridges Community Centre is a landmark facility within an integrated site and a leading edge example of environmental sustainability. The building design provides support to, and complements, the ecologically sensitive park design. The building's design and operations have achieved LEED Silver Certification.

S + A Services Included:

The HVAC system is based on rooftop air handling units for heating, cooling and ventilation. Units with high outside air requirements include a heat wheel for energy recovery. A central boiler plant consisting of condensing boilers serves the rooftop units in addition to perimeter radiation. Rainwater is captured in a cistern and re-used for flushing toilets and urinals. All plumbing fixtures are designed as low-flow to reduce potable water consumption.
