A new replacement headquarters for the Number 2 District, this building includes administration areas, a criminal investigation branch, SOCO labs, vehicle storage garages, evidence storage, detention cells, staff lockers and a fitness area. The facility also houses a six-bay ambulance garage and associated EMS support areas.
Building mechanical systems include a variable volume central indoor air handling unit (serving administrative program areas) and energy efficient air-to-air heat recovery rooftop units for the detention cells and staff locker areas. Building cooling is achieved via a roof mounted air-cooled chiller, while heating is provided by two energy-efficient gas-fired forced draft heating water boilers.
