Scalar obtained a raw space at 1 Toronto Street for the relocation of their current offices. Smith + Andersen designed the mechanical, electrical and communications systems to accommodate the company's expanding needs. The space contains a reception area that leads to a conference/meeting centre, a gym, collaboration areas, a large lunch room, open office, private offices, as well as an area that required 24 hour occupancy.

S + A Services Included:

The heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system was upgraded from a constant volume to variable air volume.

The design also included a complete new lighting design where LEDs were utilized throughout the space. A mix of direct and indirect lighting was implemented throughout, along with occupancy sensor control and dimming.

A data centre was designed complete with in-row cooling and uninterruptible power systems.
