This project was an expansion to the existing Mold-Masters SportsPlex twin facility which included the addition of two NHL-sized ice rinks, six change rooms, referee rooms, multi-purpose rooms, and a lobby. This addition made the existing facility into a quad arena facility with a total building area of approximately 140,000 square feet. An illuminated soccer field and tennis facility were decommissioned as part of this project to accommodate the expansion. The project has achieved LEED Silver Certification.

S + A Services Included:

Energy efficient building mechanical systems feature: air-to-air heat recovery for arena change rooms, desiccant dehumidification for the arenas and refrigeration plant waste heat reclaim for use as domestic hot water preheat, rooftop unit heating coils and arena spectator infloor radiant heating. A new refrigeration plant to support the new ice surfaces has been designed and incorporated in the addition.

Energy efficient electrical lighting systems have been designed to IESNA standards for each ice surface and employ occupancy sensors throughout the facility to reduce the overall electrical consumption.
