This single storey build-out for LoyaltyOne Air Miles incorporated a design build construction plan with the building owner to meet LoyaltyOne Air Miles' strict requirements. Achieved LEED CI Gold Certification, the LoyaltyOne Air Miles building officially became the home to the largest rooftop solar system in Canada. The system produces 165 kilowatts, which is enough to power the entire building facility. Solar panels are both rooftop mounted on an adjacent carport and is large enough to power 16 average sized homes.
The 55,000 square foot consisted primarily of open office space dedicated for call centre operations, including uniquely designed conference centres, cafeteria, meeting rooms, and social gathering spaces. In addition to office operations, a new centrally located data room was built to support all of LoyaltyOne Air Miles' information technology requirements.
The computer room was designed with fully dedicated supplementary cooling systems and fire suppression systems, all of which are fully backed up by an outdoor emergency generator system to ensure for business continuity during emergency situations.
