UBC Okanagan Teaching and Learning Centre

Description:

Targeting LEED Gold, this innovative facility will provide a new student centre for the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus. A haven for both collaboration and technology-driven learning, the centre includes a 600 seat lecture theatre, 32 study rooms, and a large informal learning space for students. An immersive theatre with a 270-degree wrap-around and a floor to-ceiling screen will welcome students in 2018, and will allow instructors to incorporate rich, audio-visual lessons in their teaching plans. Smith + Andersen was engaged as electrical design consultant for the new student centre.
