Kingbridge is a unique residential Conference Centre and full-service hospitality venue designed specifically for off-site meetings and teaching for companies.
Though this major renovation preserved the existing heat pump system for offices and common areas, significant modifications were conducted to increase the outside air quantities and ensure air was delivered to each zone. To improve precision control, VAV systems were installed in new meeting rooms and breakout rooms. Converting an indoor tennis court into a 300-seat auditorium involved the implementation of a constant volume system. Helping to supplement the building's cooling capacity and improve comfort control, a 110-ton reciprocating water chiller was added.
Also added was a central gas fired boiler plant with a capacity of 6,260 MBH to convert the renovated areas from electric heat to gas heat. This unit not only helps heat domestic hot water, the swimming pool and the whirlpool but its conversion represents a significant energy cost savings with a four-year payback.
