Located in downtown Calgary, the West tower of Eighth Avenue Place consists of 37 floors of office space, two levels of retail, five levels of below grade parking, and three levels of mechanical space. Eighth Avenue Place offers a variety of amenities for tenants such as a fitness centre, a 25,000 square foot green roof, conference centre rooms, a winter garden and landscaped terraces, access to Plus 15 walkways, and a variety of restaurants and retail spaces. The project has achieved LEED Platinum.

Mechanical

The central mechanical plant is located in the 41st floor mechanical room and is comprised of high-efficiency condensing hot water boilers, variable speed cooling towers, a heat reclaim loop and high-efficiency chillers. Installation of a state-of-the-art building management and control system was designed to monitor and manage energy consumption and tenant comfort requests. An approximate 40% reduction in indoor water use was obtained by using
high-efficiency faucets and water closets throughout the building. Typical floors, served through chilled water compartment units located in the core, receive fresh air from a variable speed make up air unit in the penthouse with hot water fan-powered boxes at the perimeter of the floors for heating.
