Designed by Robertson Martin Architects
Photos by Alina Cornea Architectural Photography

The Beckta Restaurant is located within the historic Grant House at 150 Elgin Street in Ottawa, Ontario. The basement contains the prep kitchen, wine cellar, and mechanical room. The first and second floors offer dining areas as well as a commercial kitchen, intentionally visible to the public. The third floor provides office space and another mechanical room.

S + A Services Included:

Mechanical

The heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system is comprised of heat pumps and hot water radiators. Many considerations were taken regarding the design in order to accommodate various obstacles due to the restaurant's heritage designation.

Electrical

The electrical services to the Grant House have been upgraded, fed from the 150 Elgin Performance Court tower. Both normal and emergency power have been provided. Decorative large chandeliers have been provided throughout the restaurant, integrated to be on emergency power with dimming override to meet both the owner's intent and code requirements for egress.
