The Rideau is a luxury 23-storey condominium located at Lansdowne Park. The building towers over the TD Place playing field to the east and the Rideau Canal to the south and west. Lower levels are provided with two-story townhouse configured units while the ultimate in luxury suites are located at the penthouse level. The entire structure has been constructed over the expansive Lansdowne Park parking garage.
High efficiency condensing boilers and a high efficiency chiller provide heating and cooling to the building. Heat recovery ventilation is provided throughout.
2 pipe fan-coils coupled with ECM variable speed motors provide energy efficient heating and cooling. In-slab ductwork aids in maintaining maximum floor to ceiling heights. Central domestic hot water, chilled water and heating water are provided.
Incoming electrical service is provided by the parking garage's high voltage system. The main switchboard is located on the parking garage which feeds the residential floors via transformer and bus duct distribution panels in local electrical rooms. Distribution is provided for future electric vehicle charging stations located in the parking garage. A digital metering system for power, water and gas is installed for residential and commercial tenants. A natural gas emergency generator for life safety systems has been installed in the mechanical penthouse. LED lighting is installed throughout.
