The historic and prestigious Sutton Place Hotel at 995 Bay Street is being converted to a new condo - The Britt Residences at Bay and Wellesley, targeting LEED Silver Certification. Aiming to add nine storeys to the existing building, the new condo will be 42-storey, 729 units residential tower with a 6-storey podium. The development also includes two 8-storey wings with amenities and 3 levels of underground parking for the whole complex. Amenities will include a dining area, library, party room, exercise room, pool, spa, sauna, board room, yoga and pilates studio, terrace and theatre room.
The green building concepts include heat recovery for each suite through energy recovery ventilation (ERV) units, energy star appliances, dual flash toilets, water conservation faucets, chillers, condensing boilers, four pipes fan coil units for occupant comfort control throughout the year and variable speed pumping of all services.
Individually metered hydro, energy efficient lighting, and controls are used throughout.
